ONLINE SAFETY BILL: S'IMPOSARÀ EL DELICTE D'OPINIÓ?

Serem jutjats per delicte d'opinió com a la Xina maoista?

It will be in charge of monitoring whether the tech giants are doing enough to prevent the spread of illegal content, such as as images of child abuse, terrorist material and racist abuse. But it will also have to make sure they are doing enough to prevent "legal but harmful" content - a tricky definition that no-one has entirely nailed down. (...) experts underline that its introduction will be nothing short of a revolution in how the online world is policed, and mean it will be a very different place for the next generation. (...) The draft Online Safety Bill harms free speech and hands policing the internet to Silicon Valley, a new campaign claims. The 'Legal to Say. Legal to Type' campaign says if it becomes law, US tech firms would gain too much power. The draft bill places new duties on social media firms to remove harmful or illegal content. (...) While the group supports the bill's aim of ensuring online platforms remove images of child sexual abuse, terrorist material and content which incites racial hatred and violence, it fears other provisions will adversely affect free speech. The new bill could see legal online posts from ordinary people blocked and would turn Ofcom into a free speech "super regulator", it claims. (...) Campaigners are particularly concerned about content that is legal, but deemed to be harmful."

L'"Online Safety Bill" o "Llei de Seguretat d'Internet" presentada pel govern britànic conservador te com objectiu combatre el crim als mitjans de comunicació social. Força les empreses que en són propietàries d'actuar-hi com policies.

Diuen els impulsors d'aquesta llei què s'hi garanteix la llibertat d'expressió. Malauradament, tanmateix, això és dubtós.

En incloure-s'hi, gens casualment, els"hate crimes" o "delictes d'odi" com quelcom a reprimir. 

Categoria aquesta prou laxa per censurar qualsevol parer discrepant amb els dogmes avui imperants quant, per exemple, a l'immigració o el gènere.

Encara que potser no caldrà perquè la gent s'hi autocensurarà. Per deslliurar-se de l'amenaça de tenir problemes amb la Justícia tal com preveu aquesta llei.

Si Trump o Zemmour han patit repressió per discrepar obertament sobre els tabús del Sistema, fins i tot judicial en cas del segon, què pot succeir amb la resta de la gent?

Alguns, malgrat tot, encara proclamen que vivim a un Sistema que ens garanteix la llibertat de pensament i d'expressió.
